UI/UX Process
A good process is certainly important to achieve good results in UX design. However, a strategic UX process can lead to phenomenal outcomes. A strategic approach involves understanding the user's needs and desires, creating a comprehensive design plan, and continually testing and refining the product to ensure it meets those needs. By adopting a strategic UX process, designers can create products that not only meet but exceed user expectations, leading to better user satisfaction, increased customer loyalty, and ultimately, higher business success.
“My signature design process consists of six steps tailored to the specific needs of each project. By creating sustainable solutions, I strive to help my clients achieve growth and prosperity through effective design.”
Stage 1
Understand
To begin the UX design process, we must first understand what we are designing and for whom.
01 User
What challenges do they encounter? In what ways are they experiencing difficulties, and how can we offer assistance?
02 Brand
After I understand the users, I strive to comprehend the brand's needs in order to provide better solutions that align with their long-term goals.
Stage 2
Research
Conduct research to gather information and knowledge to find solutions after jotting down all the problems.
01 1:1 Interview
I conduct face-to-face interviews to gain better insight and actively listen to what our target user has to share.
02 Focus Group Discussion
In order to conduct an in-depth analysis, we organize focus group discussions to comprehend the users' needs regarding the features of the user interface.
03 User Surveys
I create questionnaires with specific questions that will answer our inquiries, and I send them to the targeted audience in order to obtain the necessary information.
04 Usability Testing
During this phase, I observe how users interact with the product to identify areas where we can enhance usability.
Stage 3
Analyze
At this stage, we analyse and simplify the most relevant parts by utilising all the information gathered in the previous two stages.
01 User Persona
I create various types of user personas that represent our ideal customers. Typically, these personas include an identity, relevant quotes, and information about behavioral trends.
02 User Journey Map
Based on the insights gained during the research process, I develop a user journey map to better understand the experience people will have when using the product or service.
03 Customer Journey Map
I utilize customer journey maps to evaluate the extent to which customer experiences meet consumer expectations and to pinpoint areas where design improvements are needed.
Stage 4
Design
Finally, we begin building and developing the product in this phase.
01 Sitemaps/IA
During this step, I create a sitemap to visualize the relationships between individual web pages or application screens.
02 Userflow
I create diagrams that illustrate the complete user journey while interacting with a product, from the initial interaction to the final interaction.
03 Sketch
I explore and develop multiple potential solutions, iterating while sketching out various layouts.
04 Wireframe
I create wireframes to test various layout concepts, aiming to detect significant usability issues early on in the design process.
05 Prototype (UT)
I construct prototypes because they enable me to test and refine my concepts at a faster pace.
06 Mockups
Mock-ups are the final presentation we make to see how all the visual elements look together when the site or app operates.
Stage 5
Launch
Collaborates with developers to implement our designs and bring them to life. The designs are then tested rigorously to ensure they meet the user's needs and expectations before launching the final product.
01 Check-ins
I check in with the targeted users to understand their likes and dislikes, providing them with the opportunity to express their feedback.
02 Feedback
I ensure to receive feedback from both internal and external stakeholders to address and resolve all issues effectively.
Stage 6
Analyze Again / iteration
I firmly believe in continuously improving our designs. To achieve this, we conduct a thorough analysis and iterate to enhance the user experience.
01 Questions?
Am I able to address all of the pain points? Where do I need to iterate? What changes need to be made? How was the user experience? What new insights have I gained while designing this app?
